This privacy notice describes how we will use and protect the information you have voluntarily provided us.
Your privacy is important: we will keep your contact information secure and we won’t share this with anyone other than Pensioners for Independence Groups. In line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 we are asking individuals who wish to become Members or receive information from us to consent that their contact details will be used only in respect of:
Our Aim
Our aim is to inform discussion about pensioners' issues during the independence debate.
We are not aligned to any political party. We believe that power in the hands of the Scottish people is in the best interests of all its people.
In supporting our aim, the Dumfries and Galloway Group will engage local people, share our aspirations for a better Scotland, promote and provide resources for the achievement of Scottish independence. We will do this by inviting people who wish to become Members to sign a consent form in respect of: developing and maintaining our membership; providing or administering activities and events for our members; receiving relevant information; being photographed or filmed at our stall or carrying out other Group activities. Images and or footage may be included on our website (dgp4indy.scot) or shared via social media. We will always ask people on the day if they wish to be photographed or filmed. We will also provide advice about Zoom meetings. (See below).
Zoom
The use of Zoom has facilitated effective communication, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic and is likely to feature as a communication tool for the coming months.
Zoom meetings organised by Dumfries and Galloway Pensioners for Independence:
In line with GDPR and best practice we will provide clear instructions on the conduct of meetings including the use of the mute button, chat box, video and how discussion will be handled. Our meetings are private and will not be recorded or shared with a third party. The outcome of meetings will continue to be notified to Members in the form of notes/minutes via email.
Zoom meetings organised by other groups:
From time to time we share invitations to participate in Zoom meetings organised by other groups sympathetic to our aims. These meetings will be subject to the policies of the group hosting the meeting and may be recorded, re-broadcasted and shared via a range of social media. The organisers may not set out full instructions for the conduct of the meeting hence it will be the responsibility of our Members participating in these events to ensure they take steps to protect their privacy. Members may choose to mute audio, switch off video and change name. Alternatively, Members may be content for information to be shared in a variety of formats. Any issues arising from such sharing will not be the responsibility of Dumfries and Galloway Pensioners for Independence.

By you completing a membership consent form on our website (or paper copy) if you wish to become a member or by submitting your request on our website to receive information from us. So that we can engage you in our aims and activities as stated in Our Aim.

To communicate with you and to enable you to communicate with other people who share our aim for an Independent Scotland.
